Marine Construction Management (MCM) has announced it is supervising the build of a 39-metre by René van der Velden. Currently on the stocks at the ever-dependable Alloy Yachts in New Zealand, this is an explorer vessel-style yacht with a larger-than-normal liveable area and packs a pretty serious range too.
Redman Whiteley Dixon worked their magic on the interiors. The naval architecture is ocean-going in the extreme. This is evidenced in the cutwater on the bow, raised foredeck and high enclosed bulwarks forward on the first deck (although the aft cockpit through which the yacht is entered is kept open). This is a three-decker plus sun deck and will offer its occupants complete safety at sea as well as unique good looks. It launches in 2012.
