Marina dei Cesari announces new investment strategy

a ... A ... stampa

Today at boot Düsseldorf, Marina dei Cesari, the new tourist harbour in Fano, Marche, situated in the middle of the Adriatic sea, announced that Europe's largest marina owner and operator, UK based MDL Marinas, has entered with a minority share in the capital of the Concession Holding Company (Marina dei Cesari s.p.a.) and the new Management Company (Darsena dei Cesari s.p.a.), which was recently established.

Marina dei Cesari continues to invest in enhancing its infrastructure and organisation, and also announced a new capital increase of 1.5 million euro, which was made in total by the Concession Holding Company.

“MDL’s entry into the shareholding of Marina dei Cesari marks an essential turning point in the growth strategy of our tourist port, which will now have access to a new strong market area, due to MDL’s presence in the UK and other parts of Northern Europe. MDL will enable us to provide our services, berths and the many attractions offered by our region to international clients, who are looking to purchase a berth in the Mediterranean and relocate their boats to new cruising grounds,” enthuses Mr. Alberto Cazziol, President, Marina dei Cesari.

In 2008, MDL launched a new expansion strategy in the Mediterranean and developed its first overseas Marina at ‘Sant Carles de la Rapita’ in Cataloina, Spain. When plans were announced to develop Sant Carles Marina, MDL immediately received an unprecedented demand with over one hundred English clients purchasing new marina berths. Since the successful opening of Sant Carles Marina, MDL has continued to consider many other opportunities in many other countries, including Italy.

“We chose Marina dei Cesari amongst 40 opportunities we analysed in Italy due to the high quality of its infrastructure, management and future potential. This is our second investment in the Mediterranean market and is our first investment in Italy. We will be raising awareness of Marina dei Cesari to our clients and in particular the availability of berth contracts up to 30 years. We have extensive experience in marketing marinas to an international audience as well as possess the technical and management skills of marina operation to help sustain the marina’s long-tern sustainability,” says Mr. Mick Bettesworth, Managing Director of MDL International.

Marina dei Cesari is in front of Croatia (only 70 m.) one of the world’s most enchanting arenas for cruising and is located just a few kilometres from the Ancona and Rimini international airport. It is also the starting point to reach easily cultural jewels like Urbino, locations of great gastronomic interest such as Piobbico the land of truffles as well as the spectacular Frasassi caves, stupendously huge and wonderfully illuminated natural caverns.

Established in the 1970s, MDL has extensive knowledge of marina operation for international leisure boat visitors and benefits from a team of highly trained specialist staff. In addition to its collaboration with Marina dei Cesari, MDL owns and operates 20 marinas in prime locations.

Niebla and the sea: when art goes beyond the imagination

It’s a barrier but also a bridge. It unites yet divides and was the cradle of many civilisations. For millennia it remained the same while the world around it was changing. It’s as violent as a punch yet as sweet as an embrace: that’s the sea according to Niebla.
